"HOT" Table @ Midnight Madness Nov. 7, 2014! 

The teens had a "HOT" Table in front of BLISS during Midnight Madness in Bradford. There were HOT drinks and HOT food! And a box for the FOOD SHELF at the Bradford Academy. Thank you Mark Johnson for letting BTA set up in front of BLISS! Thank you parent volunteers! And THANK YOU teens!

 

Haunted House @ the Cubscout Halloween Party 10/28/14

Patrick Peters invited the BTA teens to help with the Cubscout Halloween Party. They helped with the haunted house as Zombies and with clean up. Thank you Patrick for inviting us to participate! Thank you Cubscouts! And THANK YOU teens! It was a BLAST!!

Town Meeting Kidwatch 3/4/14

This is the 4th Annual Kidwatch for Town Meeting that the Bradford Teen Association has hosted. Teens volunteer their time for parents who need childcare to attend Town Meeting. A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL THE TEENS!!!!

 

Memory Tree Event @ Elizabeth's Park 12/7

The BTA held a Memory Tree Event where you can purchase a teen decorated ornament in the name of a loved one and hang it on the tree at Elizabeth's Park. A big Thank You to Dan Rose for Christmas lights and music, Marie Sylvester and all the teens!

 

BTA @ Midnight Madness 11/1/13

The Bradford Teen Lounge opens Sept. 17th for the 2013/2014 school year. Days open: Tues, Wed & Fri 2:30-6

 

Bradford Parade July 18th

Thursday, July 18th the BTA decorated a float to look like the Teen Lounge along with making banners. Thank you Perry's Oil for the use of you flatbed and truck, Thank you Billy for driving and Thank you to all volunteers who help make the float and participated on it.

The Bradford Teen Association took 2 young adults to the 4th Annual Young Adult Voice Movement Conference held at the University of Vermont.

 

Summer Street Music Series Kick Off May 11

The BTA held a bake sale for the Summer Street Music Series Kick Off in the Bradford Academy. Thank you EVERYONE!

 

The BTA's Vision Statement

BTA Vision Statement Five years from now the Bradford Teen Association hopes to be a program that operates year round seven days a week and to be financially self-sufficient. We want to provide programs that provide leadership opportunities that will empower and energize the teens of Bradford and surrounding communities. It is our hope that in five years the Bradford Teen Association will not only inspire the teens of Bradford but also the community.

 

BTA's Easter Eggstravaganza March 23

The Bradford Teen Association held a community Easter egg hunt at Elizabeth's Park! What a fantastic day!

4th Annual Town Meeting Childcare March  5

The teens held childcare for those who needed it in order to go to Town Meeting. Thank you teens!

Memory Tree Event Dec. 23

The Bradford Teen Association held a Memory Tree Event at Elizabeth's Park.  The tree was lit with the help of Josh Allen stringing the lights. Cookies and hot cocoa were served and Christmas music was playing while ornaments hung on the tree!  It was a wonderful time! Thank you Josh, Dan, Marie and Jessie! Thank you everyone!!

Food Shelf @ the BA

The teens have helped the Food Shelf with deliveries as well as 1 BTA member working

on a weekly basis with them. 



The Grand Slambovian Concert Dec. 21

The Bradford Teen Associaton collaborated with Oxbow's Cindy Hall on decorating and undecorating of the Bradford Academy's auditorium for the concert and with allowing the band to use the Teen Lounge as their Green Room for the night. Thank you Grand Slambovians! Thank you Cindy! Thank you teens!

Hot Cocoa and Cookies for the Christmas Caroling @ Denny Park Dec. 14

The BTA had a stand at the Community Christmas Caroling serving hot cocoa and cookies. It was  a wonderful event! Thank you all who planned the event! Thank you Melissa!

Taco Dinner at the Congregation Church Dec. 7

Members of the Congregational Christian Ed Council at the Congregational Church held a taco dinner for the teens before the Movie Night began!  What an awesome time! Thank you!

Free Community Movie Night 12/9/12

The BTA hosted 3 more FREE Movie Nights on November 15 showing Avengers, November 30 with Big Miracle and December 7 showing Muppets Christmas! Thank you all the volunteers who make it possible!!

Paula & Anne art project Nov. 7

Paula and Anne from the Bahai group donated a 5x5 canvas to the BTA and worked with the young adults on creating a masterpiece with pastels! Thank you Paula and Anne!



​Bake Sale/Food Drive @ Midnight Madness Nov. 2

Raking Leaves at the Bradford Academy Oct. 5

A group of BTA members  were able to rake the majority of the leaves on the Bradford Academy lawn this fall. 



​Vermonster 4x4 Fundraiser Sept. 29 & 30

During the Vermonster 4x4 fall event the Bradford Teen Association held a fundraiser selling popcorn, water & 50/50 raffles.



​FREE Community Movie Night 9/21/12
The BTA hosted 3 FREE Movie Nights at Elizabeth's Park with concession sales this fall. The events were Sept. 21 showing Journey 2, Oct. 5 showing Mirror Mirror & Oct. 19 showing Hocus Pocus! Thank you everyone for coming to the movies!!



Old & Forgotten Roads videoed by the BTA 9/12/12
The Bradford Teen Association was asked to video the presentation of "Old & Forgotten Roads" by the Bradford Historical Society on Sept. 12. Four teens participated in the event.



Teen Lounge begins Sept. 4, 2012
The Bradford Teen Association's Teen Lounge opens for the 2012/2013 school year. Days open: Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays 2:30-6!



Conn. Valley Fair Parade 7/19/2012

3rd Annual Young Adult Voice Movement Conference 6/1&2/2012

The Bradford Teen Association took 3 young adults to the Young Adult Voice Movement Conference which was held at the Castleton State College. The Young Adult Voice Movement Conference gives young adults ages 16-21 the opportunity to meet people their age and let their voice be heard. The event offers social networking opportunities, workshops selected and delivered by young adults, leadership, and empowerment activities. The 3rd Annual Young Adult Voice Movement Conference is designed by young adults, for young adults.



Orange County Youth Summit 5/21/2012
Five members of the Bradford Teen Association attended an Orange County Youth Summit in Wilder VT where young adults learn leadership skills, attend workshops, meet others their age win prizes, listen to live music and more!

BPRC/BTA Easter Egg~stravaganza  4/1/12


The Bradford Teen Association sponsored the Easter Egg Hunt this year in conjunction with the Bradford Parks & Rec.  Thank you to all who participated! It was an AMAZING event!!

Mission Statement

The objective of the Bradford Teen Association is to promote healthy age-appropriate development for teens in Bradford.  This is achieved by providing an environment designed to develop positive social skills and social competence, foster moral development, and enhance self-esteem.  All of which are related to reduced risk-taking behavior, academic success, and healthy interpersonal relationships. BTA supports Bradford teens in development tasks by providing them a place within the community, other than home and school, where they can be involved in healthy socialization and gain experience in participating as a citizen in a productive manner. It is a safe zone where teens can build social relationships and have fun in a safe supervised environment.



LEAF Festival 9/17/11
The Bradford Teen Association had members volunteer during the Leaf Energy Alternative Festival (LEAF) in Bradford VT on Sept. 17, 2011!  Thank you!!



Daycare provided @ Town Meeting 3/1/11
Tuesday, March 1st - the BTA teens held a kidwatch for parents who needed it in order to attend Town Meeting! Thank you BTA and to the families who took part!

Violence Prevention Leadership Conference @ Second Growth in Wilder VT 1/28/12
Five members of the Bradford Teen Association attended the conference where Robert Bryant gave a seminar and held interactive activites that teach anti – bullying techniques.

BTA helps food shelf at Bradford Academy 11/9/10
Tuesday, Nov. 9th the teens helped rearrange the food shelf freezers, stock shelves and break down boxes. Thank you Jenny!



Midnight Madness at the Vibe 11/5/10
The Bradford Teen Association (BTA) set up video and board games at the old Vibe space in downtown Bradford during Midnight Madness as a service to the community and entertain kids of all ages.  Thank you for all those who helped especially Rhonda and Dan for volunteering!  And Thank you Aubuchon's for providing the space!!



BTA Open House 10/29/10
The Bradford Teen Association held an OPEN HOUSE on Oct. 29th for all to visit the Teen Lounge.  The teens did a splendid job brainstorming, organizing and making it happen!  It was a BLAST and a HUGE success!!!  Thank you for those who donated time, food/drinks, music, etc.....!!!

Saturday, Sept. 11th, the Bradford Teen Association helped the Upper Valley Services  Golf Tournament during the registration with mulligans, door prize tickets and freebie's.  Thank you Upper Valley Services for letting us collaborate with you!



BTA Opening Sept. 7, 2010
The Bradford Teen Association will be opening the Teen Lounge in the Bradford Academy, room 26 on Tues. Sept. 7th from 2:30-6:00.  The BTA is a safe haven for teens from 7th - 12th grade to go after school.  The Teen Lounge provides snacks, a place to socialize and grow, study space, positive self esteem and so much more!



Bradford Parks & Rec. Float in Parade 7/15/10
The Bradford Parks & Rec. entered a float in the Conn. Bradford Parks & Rec. finished Denny Parks Gazebo Facelift 7/1/10
On Thursday, July 1, the Bradford Parks & Rec met again at Denny Park to finish staining the gazebo.  What a great job!  And Caleb, a member of the Bradford Teen Association stopped by to help as well.  Thank you all!

BTA ~ Young Adult Voice Movement Conference 5/7/2010
The Bradford Teen Association was invited to the Young Adult Voice Movement Conference on Friday, May 7th. Three members participated and had a fantastic time! The conference offered an opportunity for youth and young adults throughout Vermont to come together to learn about, promote, and explore issues of community youth involvement, community change, system and policy changes relating to transition aged youth, and leadership and personal development.



BTA ~ Green Up 5/2010
The BTA helped Green Up Denny Park, the parking lot behind it and KD Welch Service Rd. the Friday before during teen lounge time. It was a great day!


BTA ~ Bowl-a-thon 4/2010
The Bradford Teen Association had a bowl-a-thon on April 11th @ Lanes & Games in WRJ. It was a wonderful day! Thank you for all those who supported us! Thank you to Bradford Pizza for making a business donation!

Saturday, Jan. 30th, BTA hosted a Public Skate @ Elizabeth's Park. There was hot cocoa, coffee, tea, cookies and hot dogs the teens cooked over the fire! What an awesome day!

BTA ~ RECYCLING PRINTER INK CARTRIDGES!    2009
The Bradford Teen Association is recycling printer ink cartridges as an ongoing fundraiser. Please bring your empty cartridges to the Bradford Academy and drop them in the box for recycling! Thank you!

The Bradford Parks & Rec. welcomes the Bradford Teen Association under their direction after Boys & Girls Club of the White River Valley pulls funding out of Bradford.
